1. Managing the Internal Audit function.
2. Developing and maintain a charter for the Internal Audit function which reflects the office’s responsibilities, authority and reporting relationships.
3. Agree the annual audit plan with the management prior to approval by the Audit Committee.
4. Perform individual audits according to the standards for professional practice of Internal Auditing.
5. Maintain personal proficiency and that of staff auditors by obtaining an adequate amount of continuing education.
6. Supervise staff auditors by assigning them to jobs which match their abilities, reviewing their work and appraising their performance.
7. Participate in or conduct evaluation and cost studies as directed by the appropriate officer of the organization.
8. Conduct scheduled and special audits and make recommendations for effective and efficient operational improvements.
9. Keep current on trends in accounting and auditing through training.
10. Execute a wide range of audits and reviews in a diverse and highly computerized organization.
11. Provide an independent, objective assurance and consulting service to management with the principal aims of evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management and control processes.
12. Make recommendations on increasing operational efficiency.
13. Report quarterly and as requested to the Audit Committee.
14. Support the Company’s mission, vision and core values.
15. Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate superior.
Qualification:
Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
Strong analytical skills to assess complex financial data and identify potential risks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the board.
Extensive knowledge of banking operations, financial regulations, and risk management.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in internal auditing and compliance, with a significant portion in a leadership or managerial role.
